The Trnava Region has five restaurants in the show, and one of them holds a special place. Na Nože began at Bella Italia in Šamorín: season 1, episode 1, filmed before the knife rating existed. The restaurant is still open today. Dvor u Sedliaka in Smolenice, from episode 8 of the same season, is also unrated for the same reason.
The other three fared badly. Pekidors in Michal na Ostrove and Bufet Jahodná near Dunajská Streda both took zero knives. A zero has been awarded only four times in the entire show, and two of those are here. Bufet Jahodná has closed. It fell to Sandorf in Prievaly, three knives in season 5, to restore the balance.
The regional average of 1.0 knives is the lowest on the map, and those two zeros are why. Even so, only one of the five has closed. A zero is not a death sentence: Pekidors took one and is still trading.
Geographically the region splits in two. Šamorín, Michal na Ostrove and Jahodná sit on the flat Žitný ostrov, while Smolenice and Prievaly lie in the foothills of the Little Carpathians, roughly an hour north.
